But as I was reading Mike's reply, I remembered the times that I had different databases (different replica ids) whose icons would stack over each other on the desktop. Or databases with the same replica ID in multiple stacks.
So now it DOES make a lot more sense! the desktopx.ndk seems to get hosed up over time, and is a bear to clean out...
I've actually also had multiple PMRs open for a couple of these issues - but they usually get no-where because they all start with deleting the desktopx.ndk - which clears out all the desktop icons anyway....
Eric - the one thing I was going to suggest is - what happens when you set up a completely new (test) client PC - can you still duplicate the issue?
You could also probably test this by renaming your desktop8.ndk and seeing if it is still a problem for your client.
The other test would (obviously) be to try a newer client version, just in case there was an issue that was subsequently fixed....
